A Mail Fauld

For the look of a mail shirt under a coat of plates, brig, or a breastplate, without the weight of a full shirt, I frequently will use a mail fauld, attached to a belt, as shown below.   I use the two split closure to allow a split to go up the middle of your coat of plates without hitting the split on your fauld
