Robin St Graves
This is the story of Robin St Graves, as I know it.... or more so I should say, what little I know of said story, for this is a man well traveled, and well versed in many stories of his own. Robin fancies himself a bit of a pirate, and as I understand it, that is not his persona... it is who he is. There are no living witnesses who can (or at least will) call him a thief, so I do not believe that is the part of a pirates life that he leads. He seems to lead the free life, constantly on the move, being his own man, with the style and assuredness of one who knows his place in the world and revels in it. The world is a better place for having him in it.
I (Geoffrey) met Robin several years back at Gulf Wars. He is a very dear friend of my squire Argus, and has since become a dear friend to us all. Argus and Robin became friends when they both
lived in California, and have remained in touch in the following years. Robin has continued to attend Gulf Wars each year and has become attached to our encampment and has become part of our
little family.
Some of the “claims to fame” that we blame... I mean attribute to Robin are “Demon Rum” (Not recommended for human consumption... so drink up!!!), metal casting and selling of said wears, or as
he calls them his”Treaures”, along with many other piratey types of booty, being a professor of something or another, acting in the “Deadewood” TV series, Tarot card reader, guitar playing and
singing of bawdy songs, and he even has given us the basis for House Excelsiors marching song! (Words to the song will be posted below as soon as we get them written out)
So, in appreciation for all that Robin is and as contributed to our encampment and our Household, we took a vote, and offered him a position as an honorary member of House Excelsior, and we are
very pleased that he accepted.
