Uilleage O'Conmhaic

Lord Uilleag O’Conmhaic is the 2nd son of Irish Lord currently at war with the Norse around Dublin. He captured his wife, Ulfdisa in a raid. They have one son, Sean Padrig. During his travels in Western Europe he chanced upon Mater Armourer Geoffrey MacDomhuill, whom he learned the craft of armouring. Uilleag’s passion was with carboulli, embossed and hardened leather to protect limbs coverd by mail. He pursued this craft until he became a journeyman, and traveled back to his homeland to continue his trade and to teach others his craft. Uilleag is currently retired, but keeps his sword and armour ready incase he called back in service to his crown.

Within the SCA, Uilleag is a Companion of the Pearl and was formerly Squired to Sir Simon Mcleod, Shair Fiachna, Sir Bryce de Byram, and finally to Duke Alaric. He resides in the Barony of Windmasters Hill in the Kingdom of Atlantia, which was originally his birth kingdom. From Atlantia he moved to the then Principality of Drachenwald, with trips to the Kingdom of the East, and the Kingdom of Calontir. He settled in the Kingdom of Meridies in the Shire of forth Castle and then Tir Briste. His wife’s career brought him to his birth kingdom of Atlantia where he settled until his retirement.

Mundanely, he is known as Dan Houchins, and he lives in the small central North Carolina town known as Cameron. By trade he is currently the owner of Steel Horses, a motorcycle accessories retail store. He formerly was employed by Bob Gillespie (Master Geoffrey) the owner of GAA Armouries and when he moved north opened his own armoury known as House of the Wolf Leather. The armoury is now closed.
